Author interview with Bec rose!

R- We’ve got another Drabble War newbie joining us today, please give a warm welcome to the lovely Bec Rose!

J- Welcome Bec!

B- *blushes* thanks for having me ladies

J- We’ll jump in with the first one...what was the first thing you wrote and when?

B- Light At the End of a Broken Road. I started a few months ago.

R- Wow, so not just a newbie to the Wars, but to the author side of the fandom as well.  Congratulations!  So, do you write for any other fandoms?

B- Of course I don’t.

J- Me either! So Bec, have you been published? If not, is it something you would like to do?

B- No, and No.

R- Okay, short and sweet... lol.  Next question, can you tell us about your entry for the Drabble War? Title, pairing, are we going to need kleenex or fresh panties on hand? You know, the juicy stuff!

B- You’re all going to hate me. It’s the story of Bella’s abusive relationship. It ends where Light at the End of a Broken Road picks up. It’s a Bella Jacob fic.

R- Does it have a name?

B- Oh sorry, it’s Broken Road.

J- That’s def gonna be something different... sounds interesting! Can you pick up to three stories you’d like to recommend, you know, the ones that always tickle at the back of your head.

B- Involuntary Rapture I love it. The author is brilliant.

R- Short list then... lol.  Usually we have to cut you guys off with this question. Okay, moving on to the good stuff...What’s your relationship status and do you have any kiddos?

B- Two kids.

J- What would your first thought be if you had learnt that you won a lottery?

B- Book my ticket!

R- Okay... I guess to anywhere?  Just get out of town!  Jess, what’s the next question?

J-  Here we go... How would you react if you were transformed into a fish?

B- *rolls eyes* Next question.

J- um... ok. *looks at Rachel and shrugs* Moving on I guess... What do you like to wear when you go to work?

B- I haven’t been to work in two years, but I always wear heels.

R- So here’s another one for you, who would win a battle between a ninja and a pirate?

B- clearly the pirate

R- *jumps out of chair*  Somebody answered pirate!!!!  YAY!!

J- Lol! So Bec, can you tell us three things about yourself that would surprise readers.

B- I live in Australia with all the other convicts. I’ve never had a peanut and jelly sandwich. I think “fanny” is the dirtiest word in the world. I’d never say it.

R- Okay Bec, last question if you were a character from ‘Twilight,’ which one would you be and why?

B- I think I’d be Esme because I take care of everyone.

J- There you have it... another interview down... please make sure you check out Broken Road this weekend and we’ll see you next time!

Author interview with Nocturnal Emissions!

R- Good afternoon and hello, please welcome our next author, and first time War participant, to the interview couch... Nocturnal Emissions!  She can also be found on TWCS here and A03 here.

J- Hey Noc *waves*

N- *squirms in seat* Thanks, excited to be here!

R- So, inquiring minds want to know...what was the first thing you wrote and when?

N- Involuntary Rapture was my first fic. I started writing it about a year ago.

J- So I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this... but you know... I’ll ask for the readers... Do you write for any other fandoms?

N- Nope :)

R- Have you been published? If not, is it something you would like to do?

N- I would love to be published, quit my job and just write all of the time!

J- That would be awesome!! :) Now, can you tell us about your entry for the Drabble War? Title, pairing, are we going to need kleenex or fresh panties on hand? You know, the juicy stuff!

N- It’s called The Second Elizabeth. It’s the story of Bella’s grandmother and grandfather. It happens before “The Elizabeth Cullen Story” and leads into Involuntary Rapture. It’s a sweet tale, though if you know my writing, there is always a dark current that runs under the surface.

R- And will you be posting your drabble on all three of your accounts?

N- For the drabble weekend, it’ll be going on the fanfiction.net account.

J- Here’s a tricky one... lol... Pick up to three stories you’d like to recommend, you know, the ones that always tickle at the back of your head.

N- Broken Headboards, Power Panties and Penis Charms, is the fic that got me started.

Dirty Dancing with the Devil Herself is one of my all time favorites.

And Light At the End of a Broken Road is a WIP that currently has my attention.

R- Now for the good stuff, some silly fun to let us, and your readers, get to really know the person behind the penname... What’s your relationship status and do you have any kiddos?

N- I’m married, have a few girlfriends, and three kids that I know of. There are several years of my life that are fuzzy, so if you know something I don’t, pm me.

R- *snorts* ‘a few girlfriends’ … nice!

J-  IKR! Only a few Noc? Moving on, what would your first thought be if you had learnt that you won a lottery?

N- How the hell did that happen. I don’t buy tickets!

R- Have to say, you’ve got creative answers!  Let’s see how you handle this next one...how would you react if you were transformed into a fish?

N- I would be grateful that I could be wet all the time, and no one would know, or mind the smell.

R- *facepalms*  I should’ve known better... hehe.

J- *snorts*... how about we change the subject now... what do you like to wear when you go to work?

N- My bathrobe, as I would like to work in my living room.

J- NICE!

R- Hehe.. sorry Noc, couldn’t resist that pic!  LMAO.  So, for the next life changing question...who would win a battle between a ninja and a pirate?

N- A ninja, though you would never know. You would just think the pirate mysteriously fell over dead.

R- Dammit.. still no love for the pirates!  Okay... tell us three things about yourself that would surprise readers.

N- I can write the most graphic rape scenes, but I can’t say the “p” word out loud. I have a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, 34 post Master’s credits, and I still can’t figure out how to remove a contact from my cell phone. Writing was my worst subject in school.

R- Peter Peter pumpkin eater... *giggles* and WOW... good for you, that’s some neat info.  I don’t do techie either.... I leave that up to Jess.

J- Okay, time for the last question in the hot seat... If you were a character from ‘Twilight,’ which one would you be and why?

N- I like Alice the best, but I couldn’t be that happy all of the time. I’d probably be Rose. She’s a bitch, and so am I.

R- And there ya have it folks.  It’s been a pleasure, Noc, you’ve certainly made me laugh.  Considering what I know of your writing style, I’m not expecting too much of that from the drabble, yet I know it will be intense!  So readers, be sure to head over to FF.net and alert Noc so you don’t miss any of The Second Elizabeth!

J- Thanks for chatting with us Noc!

Author interview with Nicia!

R- Howdy ya’ll, back with another writer here to bare her soul!  Nicia has drabbled with us before and we’re happy to have her for another round.

J- It’s great to have you here Nicia... In an attempt to streamline these a little more, we’re going to get the “writing” questions out of the way first... So, inquiring minds want to know: What was the first thing you wrote and when?

N- I’m going to put it on the table right from the start so that no one gets confused. I’m a Vampire Academy fanfic writer. So if I mention Rose and Dimitri, I’m talking about the leads in that series, not the Twilight ones.

R- *whispers*  They’re really good.

J- Ohhh... I know absolutely nothing about Vampire Academy... but I do like Sophia Bush.

N- The first fic I ever wrote was called True Love Never Runs Smooth. *cringes at the title* I started writing it right at the end of July 2009, in the summer holidays after I finished my GCSE’s. Looking back at it now, part of me wants to delete it, but it shows me how far I’ve come and how much my writing has developed and improved. The fact that so many people read it and enjoyed it is astounding. Up until my current WIP Life Will Turn Around, it was my most popular fic by miles (looking at the hits count). The fact that even now I still get occasional alerts and favourites for it is mind blowing.

R- Given your love for the VA fandom, we’re curious if you write for any of the others?

N- At the moment, kinda. At one point, I was writing a fic for the Need pixies series by Carrie Jones (it’s a great series!), but trying to write that and my fic Who are you, really was impossible. I only managed to get two chapters done before I had to pull it and focus on WAYR fully. I entered the Dirty Cheeky Monkeys Spring Squeezing contest with GSDM Canada and for that we wrote a Twific called Just a Kiss which won third place in the Judge’s Choice and also won the ‘Steamiest’ award. ;) I’m also co-writing a Night World series fanfic with Rose Melissa Ivashkov, called Meant to Be

J - So Nicia, have you been published? If not, is it something you would like to do?

N- I haven’t been published. I’ve had a few readers ask me if I ever wanted to publish or asking me when I’m going to write a book so they can go and buy it, but honestly, it’s not something I see myself doing. I tried to write a book before and that failed miserable. I’m going to try NaNoWriMo this year and see if I can do it this time around, but I don’t think I have the talent to be able to create my own world and rules and everything else that’s needed. I much prefer taking someone else’s established characters and manipulating them for the plots that pop into my mind!

R- Time to get down to business, can you tell us about your entry for the Drabble War? Title, pairing, are we going to need kleenex or fresh panties on hand? You know, the juicy stuff!

N- At the moment the story is split between being called ‘Shhhh’ or ‘Better the Enemy You Know’. I couldn’t decide and I’m still waiting to hear back from one pre-reader to see what they think before I make my final decision. It’s a very dark fic and it’s a story where Rose and Adrian are owned by someone else (I can’t reveal the name otherwise it’ll spoil it). Essentially they’re prostitutes trapped in a life that they hate, but they can’t leave, and at certain times they don’t want to leave. Their relationship with their owner is very twisted you could say. They hate him for what he’s done, but in their own way, they love him. Even when they become the prize in a bet. I’m surprised none of my pre-reader’s asked ‘WTH were you smoking when you thought this up and why on Earth did you go ahead and write it?!?!) The pairing… that’s a tough question. Rose isn’t really with anyone. There’s interaction between her and Adrian, but they’re not in a relationship, they’re just close friends who got into this mess together. Dimitri enters the fic right at the end, so I don’t think they could be considered the pairing. It could be Rose and the owner, but that name won’t be put in until he’s revealed in the fic. As for anything you’ll need during/after, probably a good, fluffy, smutty fic in your favourite fandom! xD

R- *perks up* sounds very interesting.

J- Okay, time for some recs... pick up to three stories you’d like to recommend, you know, the ones that always tickle at the back of your head.

N- Oh gosh, I hate having to recommend fics. I always forget one, and to recommend only three?

J- *looks at tb and shrugs*

R- Sure!

N- Can I recommend a couple of authors?

Rivereq – she was one of the first people whose VA fics I read when I entered the VA fandom. Her writing is amazing, but so overlooked. http://www.fanfiction.net/u/2223593/rivereq

Together Again by GSDM Canada. She wrote it for my birthday, and hot damn it was amazing. So realistic and exactly like things would have gone if Richelle Mead (the author of VA) had written it with a really hot lemon at the end!

And Rose Melissa Ivashkov. She was the first author whose RosexAdrian fics I read when I entered the VA fandom. Now I’m a steadfast RosexDimitri girl but I love her work. She is the only one whose RxA fics I will go back to time and time again.

Little-Angry-Kitten also wrote an awesome threesome o/s. My gosh, it still makes me blush when I read it!

R- *scribbles furiously on my TBR list* Okay, now that that’s out of the way, on to the good stuff, some silly fun to let us, and your readers, get to really know the person behind the penname...

J- First off, what’s your relationship status and do you have any kiddos?

N- I am single. :/ And nope, no kids. I’m only nineteen and getting ready for my second year of university!

R- *rubs hands together* Well, In that case, what would your first thought be if you had learnt that you won a lottery?

N- Mum, is this serious?

R- PMSL!

J- bwahahaha... I’d prolly be right there with you.

R- Time for another interesting one, how would you react if you were transformed into a fish?

N- LOL. Ummm, probably swim around in a little panic and then try to think of who I’d pissed off and would have had me cursed into a fish. Unless I was transformed into a fish and wasn’t in any water. Then I’d probably flop around trying to get to some water so I could breathe!

J- *snickers* thanks for the visual tb!

R- My pleasure, so next up, what do you like to wear when you go to work?

N- I work two jobs. During the holidays I work as a receptionist/secretary at a sport scheme for kids who are aged 8-16, so I try to dress in a smart/casual sense. We have to wear the light blue polo shirt we were given that says ‘Just Sports’ on the back. If I’m helping the coaches out then I’ll also change into tracksuit bottoms and trainers, if I’m staying at the desk all day I just wear jeans, or a skirt or dress. It all depends on the weather.

My second job which I recently started is in a pub. We have a black shirt what has the pub name and logo just above the left breast. We also have to wear read badges that say ‘Challenge 21. It’s my job to ask.’ If anyone who looks under 21 tries to come in and buy alcoholic drinks etc, we have to ID them to ensure that they’re 18 or over. With that we have to wear smart black trousers and black

shoes.

R- Oh, I bet that’s fun...NOT!

J- Time for my favorite question... who would win a battle between a ninja and a pirate?

N- A ninja is probably more skilled, but then a pirate is more sneaky. In hand-to-hand combat the ninja would probably win, but if they were both on pirate ships the pirate would win from experience. Oh, if they were using swords, it would probably be very hard to judge. Pirate sword versus samurai sword, I couldn’t say which would win.

R- Well, at least it wasn’t an absolute Ninja victory... again. But it wasn’t exactly a pirate win either...

J- *shrugs* we have to give her props for an original answer... Moving on, can you tell us three things about yourself that would surprise readers.

N-
1.    I’m Black British.
2.    I’m an Irish dancer.
3.    I’m a HUGE Disney fan. True love, romanticism, love at first sight, soul mates, I believe in and want all of that.

J- All together now...AWWWWW!

R- So Nicia, here’s the last one. If you were a character from ‘Twilight,’ which one would you be and why?

N- Hmmmm. Since I’m not really a huge Twilight fan I’m not sure. Maybe Alice. The power of premonition would be quite cool; it would help a lot, especially during events that lead to situations where hindsight does nothing to help. Or maybe Benjamin. Then I could ensure that it was always sunny wherever I was!

R- I think that’s the most unique answer I’ve heard!  I like it :)  Well folks, that’s it for today... thanks for joining us and be sure to alert Nicia so that you don’t miss out on a whole new version of Rose and Dimitri that will leave you hungry for more!

J- *waves* we’ll see you next time everyone!

Author Interview with ForWhenImGone!

R- Well, it’s almost time for the war to launch and we have another drabble war newbie in the hot seat!  Please welcome ForWhenImGone *golf claps*

J - Welcome Dez, It’s great to have you here. So, in an attempt to streamline these a little more, we’re going to get the “writing” questions out of the way first... So, inquiring minds want to know: What was the first thing you wrote and when?

D - Hmm, the first thing was a one-shot called “Both Before I'm Gone”. I wrote it right after I discovered fanfic in January. It’s slightly embarrassing, but since it was my baby, I left it posted. It’s about a pre-Cullen’s Alice being “aroused” by a vision of a rogue Edward and thus attacking a human man and making him her supper. One day I may go back and re-write it. I really liked the idea and I would like to try writing a Twilight fanfic with actual vampires in it.

R - That actually sounds original and interesting. I’ll have to check it out!  So, do you write for any other fandoms besides Twilight?

D- No, I don’t think I know enough about other fandoms to possibly write about them.

R- That’s cool, and leads to our next question.  Have you been published? If not, is it something you would like to do?

D- Published? Pfft. No, but maybe one day, when I can focus enough on a story. I actually have one I’ve been churning in my head for months, but have yet to write it out. Right now I have the plot worked out and am currently working on the character development. If I do get it published, I’ll send everyone a copy.

R- Fantastic!!  And good luck... definitely keep us updated on the progress of that!

J- We def want copies when you make it to the big time... :) But for now, can you tell us about your entry for the Drabble War? Title, pairing, are we going to need kleenex or fresh panties on hand? You know, the juicy stuff!

D-My entry is called Vermilion, it is a short story of a girl in trouble and on the run and the cowboy in a shiny white Stetson that is hell bent on rescuing her. The pairing is Alice and Jasper (of course, I hardly ever stray from them) and as far as tissues or panties... I am afraid I might leave you lacking in that department. It’s going to be just a good ol’ fashioned novella, which is a leap for me. My stories tend to be...what’s the word...peculiar? Yeah, that’s a good word for it. Pec-uuu-lair.

R- Nothing wrong with peculiar... in fact, in my world, that translates to original!  So, on that note, pick up to three stories you’d like to recommend, you know, the ones that always tickle at the back of your head.

D- In fandom it would be... um... bound for glory by wtvoc, Take My Hand by koko23cat, and all time favorites are Sanctuary and River Dam by jennyfly. If you haven’t read them yet, well shame on you, go out and do so.

J- Thanks for the Recs! Now for the good stuff, some silly fun to let us, and your readers, get to really know the person behind the penname... What’s your relationship status and do you have any kiddos?

D- Happily divorced with children (4. Two girls and two boys!). The kids are my sounding board when I write. I ask their  opinion on most of my stories and they are brutally honest. They also inspire a lot. Once, I was writing a story up and the 14yr old yells to his sister (she’s 16) “Go die in a fire!” Without skipping a beat she replies. “Why don’t you go drown in bleach!” That was the day I wrote a torture scene about my protagonist drowning her victim in bleach. I don’t know, the idea just came to me.

R-  LMAO.... that’s priceless! Okay hun, first wacky question... What would your first thought be if you had learnt that you won a lottery?

D- How quickly can I get a name change and a flight to a remote Island? I was asked this before at work and had to bite my tongue so I wouldn’t shout out: “Quit this f*cking job, that’s for sure!” But really, I would most likely give a majority of the money away. As long as I had enough to live comfortably (comfortably meaning a couple nice houses, a few jets, a pool boy in a Speedo) then the rest could be used to help others. Goodness knows I need the brownie points to keep from going to hades. Although, if we listen to the evangelist on TV, hell might be a pretty rocking place.  I imagine it as a crowded rave, filled to the gills with glow-stick shaking homosexuals, headbanging rock stars and the director of A Serbian Film. Not the worst place to be.

R- That has got to be, hands down, the best answer we’ve heard... and the best description of Hell as well!

J- *snickers* at the South Park pic... Onward and upward... (sorry for the lame joke... you know she said Hell... and it’s supposed to be you know... down there... so we’re moving up to the ocean... yea what the fuck ever... just keep reading... ) Dez, how would you react if you were transformed into a fish?

D- Am I a pretty fish or the deadly kind? I would hope to be a man-of-war so I could be both! Their heads are translucent globes, full of the colors of the sunset - royal blue and red-violet - and they look like lilies or lotus floating on the ocean. But their tentacles dangling down below the surface hold some serious poison. So if I were a man-of-war I would be excited to bob around, wait for some unsuspecting leg to tangle myself around and inflict all sorts of pain.

R-  Another fabulous answer... and the imagery you used, almost don’t need the picture, but it’s cool so we’ll keep it in here!  Next question isn’t quite as weird, but it’s random! What do you like to wear when you go to work?

D- I work at a call center ..::sigh::.. and am required to wear “business casual”. Now that it’s hot as heck in Texas, I can break out my summer dresses, put on a little sweater and call it work appropriate.

R- Wait... did I know you were a TX girl too?  Cool.... or not so much, as it is summer... lol.

J- Okay... Dez, are you ready... it’s time for the ‘BIG’ question of the month... Who would win a battle between a ninja and a pirate?

D- Space Pirates or Cyber Ninjas or just the pain old pirates and ninjas? Um... ninja.

R- *pouts* stupid fucking ninjas...

J- *giggles* Yay! for ninjas! *sings* magic, magic ninjas what?!? magic, magic ninjas what?! *stops singing and looks around awkwardly* um... okay... comes back from my ‘Big Money Hustlas’ ICP moment... sorry... wait... I gotta drop this here first tho...

R- *glares at Jess* shut up

J- Just click the video tb... and I dare you not to laugh!

R- Hmmm... wonder why THIS was on the side bar to that video...  On that note, D, tell us three things about yourself that would surprise readers.

J- *giggles* don’t hurt yourself tb... I’d miss you! :P

D-
1.) I tend to exaggerate and run off tangent (that may not actually be a surprise).
2.) I had elective surgery to have my hands removed and must type with my forehead (no, not really)
3.) I’m a snarky bitch =p

R- *rolls outta chair onto floor, dying from laughter* ahem... okay, better now.  Really shouldn’t have Googled “no hands type with forehead”

J- *snickers makes me think of Dane Cook... so here we go... watch this....

(you have to watch from the start point to 7:20)

Speaking of tangents... I’m back now too... now you too, tb... *hauls tb up off the floor* get back here woman.. we’re not done with you yet... WE *points back and forth between myself and tb* have one more question for Dez... *puts on serious face* So Dez, if you were a character from ‘Twilight,’ which one would you be and why?

D- Most people would think I’d choose Alice, but I think I would go with Maria. I like strong female characters and she seemed to be one of the few mentioned in the books (Leah would be another). Maria was smart, independent and knew how to throw her authority around (she also saw that Jasper was a tasty snack and was quick to snatch up his fine southern ass).

R- Nice Cleveland shot there, Jess... hehe.  *high fives Dez for the fine southern ass*  Alrighty darlin’, it truly has been a pleasure having you here with us!  Everyone be sure to follow her profile link at the beginning of the interview and put ForWhenImGone on alert so that you don’t miss any of Vermilion... and don’t forget the other drabbles as well!  Till next time ya’ll...
