February Drabble Warrior Interview V

Hello Drabble War Lovers!

It is time to meet our next drabble warrior for this month's Drabble Wars. All the questions were submitted by members of the Drabble Wars Forum on facebook, so if you have a question you would like to ask the authors, come join us in the group and let us know! Everyone is welcome, readers and authors, so don't be shy and ask to join.

Now, let's meet the fifth warrior for this battle of the words... Lolo84!

1. Tell us a bit about yourself. How old are you? Are you married or single? Have any children? Does your family know about your writing?
—I’m in my late twenties … Single, bilingual, and ready to mingle! Watch out now! ;-) and yes, my family knows about my writing!! They also know never to read it because I need to be able to face them afterward.

2. How did you discover fanficiton? What was the first ff you ever read?
—I discovered Fanfiction Summer of ’11 when I was looking for an extended version of Midnight Sun. For the first couple of months, I only browsed here and there through the C2’s and completed T fics. (I didn’t understand the rating thing) … So, though I can’t say I remember the first story I read—other than the Midnight Sun’s, and the other’s in EPOV—I think Red Line/Coloring Outside the Lines was one of the first M rated one’s … There wasn’t much turning back after that point.

3. What is your source for inspiration when writing a story? Music lyrics? Movies? Real life?
—Anything and everything, really. Real life plays a big part in a lot of my stories. In every single one, I can pin point at least one thing I drew from a personal experience. But, yeah—music, movies, other stories … they’ve all dropped plot bunnies in my head.

4. How do you choose which characters to use in your story especially if it is for OOC (out of character) situation?

—I don’t really pick and choose, to be honest. At least not that I can think of. The usual suspects always find a way in there somehow, they’re just normally OOC because I take sick pleasure in messing with them. A cheating Esme who lied to Edward about who his dad really is? Coming right up! Haha

5. Have you ever written a story knowing where you want to go with it but not able to get there because the characters went in a different direction? If so, does that change how you feel about the story? Are you mad about the change or happy or indifferent?

—For the most part, I can say my stories—the end result— always end up where I want them to. The “how” is always a surprise to me, though. LOL. Like, I’ll think my characters are going to do it one way, and then by the time a chapter, or story is over—I read back and think, “Well, that was unnecessary, you really should have just listened to me.” And yes, I do have talks/arguments with my characters when they’re being stubborn.

6. When you write a lemon, what POV (first/third and guy/girl) is better to write for you and why?
—It depends whose mind set I need to get into, and why. For example: I’ll probably never try and conquer writing a lemon scene from a Brokenella’s point of view—my psyche wouldn’t be able to handle that. At the same time, I always get a little performance anxiety when I write from a guy’s POV, even though I find those more fun to write. And for now, I’ve only written in First person.

7. What is your favorite genre/category to write in and why?
—Even though it’s hard for me to read Angst (I try and avoid it at all cost) It’s probably what I like to write the most. One, it challenges me to dig deep. Two, it’s some damn good therapy and outlet when I need a good cry.

8. What is your favorite pairing to read? Got any drabbles with that pairing you can recommend? (the drabble doesn't have to be a DW entry)

—Edward/Bella is my favorite pairing. Honestly, there’s just too many to pick just a few ;-)

9. Tell us about your Drabble War Entry: Fandom, Pairing, Title, Summary, What inspired you to write it. (Please attach a link to your banner or you can upload the banner here in the group)

Fandom: Twilight
Pairing: Edward/Bella

Summary: It was a silly social experiment for her Psych class . . . Bella never thought it would amount to more. “Hey—what numbers did you get assigned?” She looked down at her paper. “Umm . . . 5 and 9.” Leaning over, her and her best friend examined what that meant. “Oh, well sit down with a total stranger and ask someone for a hug. That shouldn't be too bad right?” Humor/Romance.

—The inspiration behind my drabble is actually funny (to me) … Basically, it came from a flame of all places. A troll asked me if one of my stories was part of a psych project to see what crazy stuff I can come up with. I literally, laughed out loud and the next thing I know I’m thinking back on the Psych projects we did in school, and looking up social experiments they do now. Basically, Edward and Bella meet when Bella has to approach him for her project assignment and that's how it all starts.

10. Have you participated in a DW before? If you have, what have you gained from the experience? And if you haven't, will you do it again after this one?

—I have. I believe this is my third one. And really, just getting to know some of the other warriors, and some new readers, is always fun.

Big thanks to Lolo84 for answering all the questions, and don't forget to put this amazing author in your alerts so you don't miss out on reading this interesting drabble!
